Capital & Credit Ocho Rios team spreads joy to the elderly of the St. Ann Infirmary
Team members of the Capital & Credit Ocho Rios branch recently helped spread some joy to approximately 100 residents of the St. Ann Infirmary in Priory, St. Ann. The team presented bags of food supplies, toiletries and groceries with prize money which they won in an inter-branch Christmas Decorating Competition in December last year.
Branch Manager, Karlene Mullings explains that “the initiative was inspired by the team’s ongoing desire to help the less fortunate, especially children and the elderly” she adds “the money won, presented the staff with an opportunity to purchase and donate these items of necessity to the deserving elderly at the institution.”
Matron Davidson, who accepted the donation on behalf of the St. Ann Infirmary, expressed her gratitude. Some of the residents could be seen smiling in appreciation of the gesture of kindness demonstrated by the CCMB Ocho Rios team, who also spent quality time with the residents.
Mayor of St. Ann, Ivan Anderson and Councillor Lloyd Garrick were also present at the hand-over. Councillor Garrick, who also has responsibility for Poor Relief, expressed concerns that “not many companies despite making profit, display corporate citizenship” and so he was pleased with the efforts of the Capital & Credit Ocho Rios team and “wished for continuous and positive growth” for the Organization.
Mrs. Mullings says that her team at the Ocho Rios branch will continue to look for opportunities to contribute to the welfare of the residents, at the Infirmary in May this year.
