Good Times in Store for Patrons of CCFG's 'Pickney Love at Christmas 8'

The Capital & Credit Financial Group will once again join forces with local artistes to raise funds for the children of the Dare to Care Homes in the Mustard Seed Communities with the eighth annual staging of its Signature Corporate event ‘Pickney Love at Christmas’ on Wednesday, December 16 at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.

The concert which is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. will feature performances from Toots Hibbert, Taurus Riley, Tony Rebel, Queen Ifrica, Bongo Herman, Voice Mail, Alaine, Lovindeer, Nadine Sutherland, Laden, To-Isis, Jessica Yapp, Wolmer’s Dance Troupe and the JCDC Top Winners, all backed by Fab 5 Band.

Since 2001, Capital & Credit’s ‘Pickney Love at Christmas’ concert has raised funds and donated all proceeds after audit to charity.  The first concert held in 2001 raised funds to build classrooms for the School of Hope for disabled children, while the last six shows have been for the benefit of the Mustard Seed’s Dare to Care Homes for children abandoned and living with HIV/AIDS. To date, the concerts have netted in $7.2 million for Dare to Care, which has helped to convert the former hospice into a home for over 74 children from abandoned homes across Jamaica.

“The children at Dare to Care are able to receive medication and other needs due to this collaborative effort involving clients, families, friends, performers and good corporate citizens and this is why we  host this event year after year,” stated Michelle Wilson-Reynolds, SVP for Group Marketing & Corporate Affairs. “When you hear some of the heart wrenching stories, you are just moved to jump on board instantaneously,” she added.

This year with so many crowd pleasers, patrons are guaranteed to have a good time, while at the same time supporting a worthy cause. Over the years, the ‘Pickney Love at Christmas’ concert has garnered a reputation for offering first class Jamaican family entertainment.  ‘Tickets are available at all our branches and are usually sold at the gate. We have managed to maintain the same price of $1,500 for adults and $600 for children,’ noted Mrs. Wilson-Reynolds.

The concert follows on the heels of World Aids Day which was observed on December 1, 2009.  “This event also aims to stir social consciousness around this disease and we are proud to be a part of such a broad-based effort, particularly one that involves our Jamaican children,” added Mrs. Wilson-Reynolds.
