Capital & Credit's Reggae Money Express (RME) chosen to disburse NHT refunds

Reggae Money Express (RME) is one of two money transfer services chosen by the National Housing Trust (NHT) to pay out refunds to its contributors island-wide. As of January 2009, NHT contributors will no longer have to travel long distances to NHT’s branch offices to collect their refunds. They will instead be offered an option of over 70 additional collection points through Reggae Money Express agents island-wide.

The contract between NHT and the two remittance companies, Capital & Credit Remittance Limited and JN Money Transfer was signed on Thursday, December 18, at NHT’s Boardroom at Park Boulevard. Reggae Money Express, a flagship product of Capital & Credit Remittance Limited, will pay out contributions refunds at its over 70 convenient locations island-wide.

NHT’s Senior General Manager for Construction & Development, Donald Moore, said that after going through 2008, which he describes as a "watershed for contributions refund at the NHT" the Trust decided to take a good look at its refunds process to see how it could offer customers a better experience. He added that the partnership with the remittance companies will provide "a better and more convenient way for people to collect their money".

When contributors apply for their refunds online, they will be given the option to collect the funds from any of the Reggae Money Express Agents island-wide. Immediately after the application is submitted they will be given a date when they can collect the funds and a reminder of the method of payment that they selected. Both agencies also provide the added benefit of contacting the contributors to remind them of pick-up.
