CCFG’s Scholarship Awardees Excel and Give Back To Society
It is an entrenched philosophy in the Capital & Credit Financial Group that investing adequate resources into Education, results in a ‘win win situation for all.
Proudly, 24 year old Fast Bowler and Capital & Credit Scholarship Recipient, Gavin Wallace has added veracity to this concept with his excellent performance in the game of Cricket resulting in many wins for Jamaica’s Team.

Gavin Wallace epitomises greatness realised through personal determination and financial support, some of which he got from Capital & Credit in his later years to fund his tertiary education.
An orphan since nine, Gavin whose childhood was laced with financial hardship was not bowled over by his circumstance and worked assiduously throughout his stint at St. Jago High to qualify for a CCFG Scholarship in 2003 to attend the University of Technology (UTECH). According to Gavin, there were times when his Aunt, with whom he lived when his parents died, could only provide him with bus fare to school. However, the youngster hit for six the notion that poverty was not congruent with academic excellence.
After scoring five subjects at the Caribbean Secondary Examination Certification, Gavin went on to achieve an honours Degree in Finance at the UTECH. While pursuing his education, Gavin’s love and dedication for cricket developed into highly professional and superior skills at the game and thrust him into the category of a top player and a valuable asset to the Jamaica team.
The Spin Bowler this year was named to the Jamaica National Cricket Team and helped to propel Jamaica’s victory over the Leeward Islands in the West Indies Cricket Board’s Four-Day Regional Match on January 11, 2009. For his efforts, he was also dubbed the Gleaner’s Sports ‘Performer of the Week’. Gavin continues to succeed at what he does and Capital & Credit is proud to have contributed to the making of another West Indian ‘Great’, which is where Gavin seems to be heading.
